GraMS Luncheon

Today I had the honor of having lunch with GraMS, one of our graduate student organizations.  GraMS had requested that I talk to their members about the upcoming graduate events and discuss ways in which students can volunteer for the events.  We talked about the schedule of events, details for setting up, registration, and frequently asked questions.  We also talked about our social events which include our pizza party, game night, and dinner downtown.  It's great that so many of our students are eager to participate!  Students also shared suggestions with me in regard to activities at the events, and I look forward to incorporating their ideas.

If you're a current student, and you'd still like to get involved, there is still time!  Just send me an email.

If you're new to MechSE, you may be wondering, "What is GraMS?"  Graduate students in our department are automatically members of Graduate MechSE Students (GraMS). GraMS was established by students in the department to improve the quality of the graduate student experience in the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering. As an organization, GraMS seeks to develop the professional character of members in both technical and non-technical capacities, act as an open line of communication between the students and the administration, and offer social opportunities for the students and faculty to promote fellowship and a more collegial atmosphere.  You can learn more about GraMS at their website.
