To all our new MechSE students: welcome to Illinois! And for those returning, welcome back!

We’re two weeks into the semester and, for many of us, right back in the swing of things.  Here are some upcoming events to think about planning ahead for:

  • Engineering Career Services Career Fair, September 7th and 8th.
  • MechSE grad school seminar: September 12, 4 pm, 112 Transportation Building. Learn about how to apply and get your questions answered.
  • Pygmalion runs September 16-24. I highly recommend checking out the lineup to see if anything interests you.
  • This year’s Engineering Employment Expo will be held in the ARC on September 19 and 20.
  • Homecoming events: you can register to participate in the Homecoming 5k on October 23. The game is on October 29 (if you want good tickets, get them now).
  • Dierks Bentley is playing State Farm Center on October 27. The 1975 will play on October 28. Tickets for both are on sale now through the ticket office (go to student tickets) http://tickets.fightingillini.com/
  • Nick Offerman (you may know him as Ron Swanson) is coming to the Virginia Theater in Champaign on November 1.
Here’s to a strong start of another semester, or first semester as the case may be.
