On Friday, October 14, the MechSE Department hosted its annual Open House and High School Visit Day in Mechanical Engineering Laboratory. Prospective MechSE students—top high school students from around the state—visited to discover many of the exciting educational experiences the department offers, hands-on lab demonstrations, and opportunities to talk with current students and faculty. Then current MechSE freshmen and their parents toured the Open House to see some of the great projects and societies in which they could soon participate.

Guests were treated to demonstrations from MechSE faculty, staff, grad students, undergrads, and student societies in the injection molding and sand casting labs, 3D printing, slimy substances in the Rheology Zoo, various robotics, and all the vehicles from the car teams, just to name a few.
