Join MechSE assistant professor Randy Ewoldt and Arts and Design professor Cliff Shin for an out-of-the-ordinary presentation at 1 p.m. this Thursday, December 12 at the Krannert Art Museum (500 E. Peabody, Champaign).

They will be presenting S.P.L.A.T. Mechanics - Sticky Pastes and Liquids for Art and Technology. The objective of this effort is to enable future technology, art, and products that make use of rheologically complex behavior. Such behavior is not in the standard toolbox of a designer or engineer, owing in part to the need for deeper fundamental understanding and intuition for sticky, complex, non-Newtonian fluids, and viscoelastic materials.
