Wrapping up a busy week at MechSE

It's been a great week in MechSE Grad!  One of this week's highlights included the announcement that MechSE's Grad Programs are now ranking No. 5 in the US News and World Report ranking of graduate schools in mechanical engineering.  We couldn't have received this recognition without our outstanding students!  Check out MechSE's announcement article here

This week we have been focused on wrapping up admission decisions.  Most applicants should have received notifications this week.  If you did not hear from us, you should hear from us soon.  The committee offers its congratulations to those who have been offered admission!

If you have been offered admission, you are welcome to begin contacting our faculty to inquire about research assistantship openings.  Email is generally the best way to contact our faculty.  The faculty hiring process will take place now through September.  The faculty members have access to your application materials.  Faculty will also find out about their funding outlook for the coming year during this timeframe, so they may not be able to respond to you right away (i.e., they may be waiting for a confirmation on the number of students they can hire).  Please note that, although many faculty cannot make financial commitments ahead of the semester, your admission is guaranteed and is not contingent on concluding arrangements with an advisor now.

Today welcome a few prospective students visiting campus as part of the Graduate College's Community of Scholars Campus Visit Program, and there are also many students and faculty in the department participating in Engineering Open House (EOH) activities.  Campus is certainly buzzing with activity!
