Two MechSE alumni received Central Illinois Business magazine’s Forty Under 40 Awards, which recognize young professionals for their achievements, experience, innovation, leadership and community involvement. 
 
Scott Daigle
(BSME ’09, MSME ’11), co-founder and CEO of IntelliWheels, which develops geared wheels and other technologies to assist manual wheelchair users. Earlier this year, Daigle was also named to Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list in the Manufacturing and Industry category. 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
Ben Newell
(BSME ’02, MBA ’08), president of Newell Instruments, a company with expertise in energy conversion, air conditioning, refrigeration, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, controls and instrumentation, solar energy, and building technology. Newell also has affiliations with Build Equinox, an industry leader in indoor air quality research and development, and Verde GSE, a line of environmentally responsible pre-conditioned air units.
