At the end of the fall semester, Pi Tau Sigma, the mechanical engineering honor society at Illinois, welcomed 21 new members who completed initiation requirements into the honor society.

Each semester, students in the MechSE Department (pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering or engineering mechanics) with a GPA greater than 3.5 and at least 60 credit hours are invited to join.

Pi Tau Sigma, which was founded at the University of Illinois in 1915 with a mission to strive to create better engineers through commitment to academic excellence and dedication to service. Research Professor and Professor Emeritus Pratap Vanka currently serves as their faculty advisor.
