Air Conditioning Systems Lab

This laboratory consists of two environmental chambers capable of spanning a wide range of operating conditions experienced by air conditioners and heat pumps. Extensive instrumentation assures accuracy by providing three independent measures of energy balances (chamber, refrigerant, air). Each heat exchanger is in a wind tunnel, and transient behavior can be monitored at high sampling rates. Refrigerant capabilities include hydrofluorocarbons and carbon dioxide.
