Alma comes home

The university's beloved Alma Mater returned to her home at the corner of Green and Wright streets this morning. The sculpture spent a year and a half at a restoration facility in Chicago to remove the harmful green oxidation that had been building up on her surface for the last 85 years. University alumnus Laredo Taft created the bronze sculpture for the campus in 1929, a mother greeting her children with outstretched arms alongside Learning and Labor, to represent the university's motto.
