Approaching April 15th

You may remember from previous posts that our applicant pool for Fall 2013 was one of the most, if not the most, competitive pools for admission that we've had.  Applicants with an offer of aid must respond to their offer by April 15th in order to accept or decline the offer.  After April 15th, offers of admission are still valid, but we are not able to hold financial offers past April 15th.

I'm happy to say that many students have already accepted their offer of admission, and our incoming class for Fall 2013 is looking great!  If you have any questions about your offer, do not hesitate to contact me.  Many of you may be contacting faculty to inquire about research assistantship openings.  Please note that you are not required to find an advisor prior to the start of the fall semester.  Our faculty are only starting to hear about their funding outlook for the coming year, and they will be hiring students over the summer and into the fall.  In fact, we often have students who find an advisor during their first year on campus.  At MechSE, you can rest assured that your admission is guaranteed and not contingent on concluding arrangements with an advisor right away.

Again, Happy Graduate Student Appreciation Week!
Tonight is Krannert Uncorked, and tomorrow is Fitness Friday at the ARC!  See complete details here.
To our recently admitted students, we hope you will be a part of our graduate family next year!
