The Engineering Council recently recognized MechSE professors Dimitrios Kyritsis, Chia-fon Lee, Prashant Mehta and Michael Philpott for their excellence in advising students. Each received a 2010 Outstanding Advisor Award at the College of Engineering Faculty Awards Ceremony and Reception on Monday, May 3.

Engineering Council is a union of engineering societies and committees dedicated to enriching the student collegiate experience through a distinctive array of programs and services. Their aim is to encourage academic, professional, and personal growth by offering leadership opportunities and fostering interdisciplinary relationships within the College of Engineering. Each year the Council asks both undergraduate and graduate students to choose the advisors they deem to be excellent. The top 10% are then selected to receive the Outstanding Advisor Award.
