Mark Figge received $1,000 after winning the Salt Creek Chapter Award from the Illinois Society of Professional Engineers. The award honors an Illinois resident in their sophomore, junior or senior year at an ABET accredited University with a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA. Although this applies to many students at the University of Illinois, Figge will be taking the Fundamental Engineering (FE) exam as one of his first steps to reach his goal to become a licensed Professional Engineer. He also organized an FE exam review course for any student in the College of Engineering that wanted to attend. This review course provided students with a low cost opportunity to prepare for the FE Exam. Figge has been an active leader and member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME).
