New Seminar Series Underway

Dr. Clyde Briant, professor and dean of engineering at Brown University in Rhode Island, discussed his experimental and modeling study of deformation in aluminum-magnesium alloys at elevated temperatures. Briant worked in the General Electric Company Research and Development Center for 18 years before joining Brown in 1994.

Dr. Clyde Briant, professor and dean of engineering at Brown University in Rhode Island, discussed his experimental and modeling study of deformation in aluminum-magnesium alloys at elevated temperatures. Briant worked in the General Electric Company Research and Development Center for 18 years before joining Brown in 1994. He is a fellow of ASM International.

The Schaller Seminar Series is made possible by an endowment from Alwin Schaller (BSME 1907, MSME 1912) in honor of the late Professor George Goodenough. The lecture series will enable the department to host world-class scholars in the area of mechanical science and engineering.
