Two M&IE Students Named Knights of St. Patrick

M&IE students Ian Peterson and Robert Wille have been named to the 2005-2006 class of the Knights of St. Patrick , two of only seven students in the College of Engineering so honored. The Knight of St. Patrick is an annual award given by the College of Engineering to students who represent leadership, excellence in character, and exceptional contribution to the College of Engineering. The award is one of the highest honors given to students by the College.

M&IE students Ian Peterson and Robert Wille have been named to the 2005-2006 class of the Knights of St. Patrick , two of only seven students in the College of Engineering so honored. The Knight of St. Patrick is an annual award given by the College of Engineering to students who represent leadership, excellence in character, and exceptional contribution to the College of Engineering. The award is one of the highest honors given to students by the College.

Peterson is a Senior in Mechanical Engineering, with an International Minor in Engineering -- Eastern Europe/Russia. He is the current president of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) UIUC chapter, and a Team Leader of the Mini-Baja Design Team of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) UIUC chapter, for which he served as president in 2004-2005. He also serves as webmaster for the Pi Tau Sigma Mechanical Engineering Honors Society and is a member of the Russian Society and Russian Club.

Wille is also a Senior in Mechanical Engineering. He is interested in Occupational Biomechanics and Human Factors. He is currently president of Engineering Council, the body that represents students in the College of Engineering, and served in the past as the organization's publicity director and vice president. He is also active in ASME and in the Undergraduate Patent Law Society. He hopes to attend law school in the fall and pursue a degree in patent law.
