UIUC Among Most Wired Campuses

Working with The Princeton Review, PC Magazine has ranked UIUC number 6 on its top 10 list of wired campuses. The list appears in the January 2007 issue of the magazine, which will be on newstands on December 26.

Illinois was cited for its extensive wireless connectivity, 600 MB of free online storage that is available to students, on-campus Apple and Dell stores with discount prices, and the university library's collection of video games and consoles for rent. The article also noted that many UIUC graduates are "big players in the tech industry," and that the campus was the birthplace of both the first Web browser and the first parallel supercomputer.
